Spectacular views from Mount Royal were a highlight of our recent iconic 4-day wilderness walk from the Upper Allyn River to near Callicoma Hill - about 40km or so.
The walk is often off-track, and goes across the southern ranges & valleys of the Barrington Tops and is among the most adventurous routes in Australia. It traverses ancient rainforests, wild rivers and three mountains in Barrington Tops & Mount Royal National Parks as well as Chichester State Forest.
Following the wet weather of recent years, vehicle access to these areas remains limited by road closures. This makes experiencing world class Mount Royal an even more epic and car free experience!
