ACTIVITIES
Callicoma Hill is a great place to observe native birds and wildlife. Barrington Wilderness area is nearby and provides opportunities for remote walking.
Walking in nearby national parks, drives to vineyards and restaurants, forest drives. Other activities in Hunter Valley that you can combine with a visit to Callicoma Hill include:
- Easy bushwalking, take a forest drive, watch birds and native animals, or help on the farm. Climb Mount Royal or see the world heritage rainforest of Barrington Tops National Park.
- Natural Adventures Australia also organises guided bush walks in the nearby national parks, and there is superb mountain biking on nearby forest roads.
- Sit on the verandah and relax, watch kangaroos, or go swimming in nearby creek waterholes in summer.
- Lake St Clair is only about 10 minutes from Callicoma Hill and provides excellent fishing, boating and picnic facilities.
- Nearby national parks and reserves in the Hunter Valley area are Barrington Tops National Park, Wollemi National Park, Yengo National Park, Burning Mountain Nature Reserve, Coolah Tops National Park, Tomaree National Park, Myall Lakes National Park and Woko National Park.
Indoor activities - Watch the wildlife from every window. Curl up and read a book or relax on the verandah. Play games.
Outdoor activities - Have a barbecue. Go mountain bike riding. Bushwalking. Watching wildlife. See spectacular lake and mountain views.
Natural Adventures Australia organises guided bushwalks in the nearby forests. We are experienced with a wide knowledge of the area's wildlife, plants, geology, landscape and history.
